A new app has been released giving a clearer look into the scope and scale of Cape Town’s new R8 billion precinct, Harbour Arch.<\/p>\n

Harbour Arch is being developed by the Amdec Group, a privately-owned property development and investment business, modeled on its existing project in North Johannesburg \u2013 Melrose Arch.<\/p>\n

According to James Wilson, CEO of the Amdec Group, the new development will take approximately a decade to complete and will involve an investment of approximately R8 billion.<\/p>\n

On completion, the 5.8 hectare Harbour Arch will be contained in its own precinct, much like Melrose Arch, and will be home to seven individual tower blocks with a total of 200,000 square metres of usable space \u2013 making it the first\u00a0 and largest mixed-use development of its kind in the Cape Town CBD.<\/p>\n

Phase 1 of the residential aspect of the project has already kicked off, while a hotel partnership has also been announced with Marriott International.<\/p>\n

Since the development’s reveal, some changes have been made to the design, and a new VR app has been made available for Android and iOS users to take a digital walk through the completed concept in virtual space.<\/p>\n

The Google Street View-type perspective gives a better sense of how the development will fit into the space in Cape Town, and gives a better overall look than the conceptual renders available.<\/p>\n

The app was developed by ThinkLab<\/a><\/strong> and is available to download for free on the Google Play store<\/a> <\/strong>and iOS.<\/p>\n
