{"id":208641,"date":"2017-11-02T13:12:16","date_gmt":"2017-11-02T11:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=208641"},"modified":"2017-11-02T13:12:16","modified_gmt":"2017-11-02T11:12:16","slug":"autotrader-merges-with-olx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/208641\/autotrader-merges-with-olx\/","title":{"rendered":"AutoTrader merges with OLX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The OLX Group, a subsidiary of Naspers says it has had its\u00a0\u00a0merger agreement with AutoTrader approved by local authorities.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The deal will ensure a broader and better portfolio for OLX, the group said in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe bring the expertise from the niche verticals of car, truck, commercial, agriculture, bike and leisure\u201d said AutoTrader CEO George Mienie. \u201cWe are excited to work with the OLX Group that is part of a global company. Our customers can stand to benefit substantially from investment in product innovation as a result.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cOur vehicle shoppers can look forward to continuous improvements to further enhance consumer experience through investment in online vehicle shopping tools,&#8221; said Mienie.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">AutoTrader turned 25 this year, and recently <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/motoring\/207814-autotrader-shutting-down-magazine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ended the publication<\/strong><\/a> of its\u00a0print magazine.
