{"id":209089,"date":"2017-11-06T08:24:01","date_gmt":"2017-11-06T06:24:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=209089"},"modified":"2017-11-06T08:24:01","modified_gmt":"2017-11-06T06:24:01","slug":"taxify-launches-in-port-elizabeth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/209089\/taxify-launches-in-port-elizabeth\/","title":{"rendered":"Taxify launches in Port Elizabeth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uber competitor, Taxify has launched in Port Elizabeth, its fourth city in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Taxify said it takes less commission than other e-hailing services, &#8220;meaning cheaper rides and more money in drivers\u2019 pockets&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To celebrate, Taxify said it has suspended any surge pricing and is offering a -40% discount to riders during the month of November.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">They will be launching with R3.60 per km vs. the usual R6 per km that has previously prevailed in the market.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Taxify takes only 15% commission from its drivers, which is up to half the commission taken by Uber and other ride-sharing platforms.
