Old Mutual<\/a>, Microsoft SA<\/a> and MTN<\/a> are the best employers in South Africa, according to the CRF<\/a> Institute’s Best Employer Certification Index for 2012.<\/p>\n

The list is a research-based rating of companies looking specifically at human resources management and related areas.<\/p>\n

The ratings are compiled through surveys, company reviews and audits by the Corporate Research Foundation, working in conjunction with auditing firm, Grant Thornton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A total of 73 organisations were certified in 2012 \u2013 the largest number since the Best Employer campaign began in South Africa in 1997, the CRF said.<\/p>\n

Old Mutual<\/strong> earned the top spot in the “Giants” category (companies with more than 10,001 employees).<\/p>\n

MTN<\/strong> came out top in the “Large” category (companies with 1001 to 10,000 employees).<\/p>\n

Microsoft SA<\/strong> placed first in the Medium category (companies up to 1,000 employees).<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a climate where companies expect more than ever from their employees, it is gratifying to see that top employers are realising the value of, and investing in, their relationships with employees, and the people component of the triple bottom line,\u201d said Samantha Crous<\/a>, the CRF Institute\u2019s country manager.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeveloping and growing potential is one of the primary features of a Best Employer.\u201d<\/p>\n
