{"id":210201,"date":"2017-11-10T12:24:21","date_gmt":"2017-11-10T10:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=210201"},"modified":"2017-11-10T12:24:21","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T10:24:21","slug":"half-of-cape-town-airbnb-users-need-the-app-to-afford-their-homes-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/technology\/210201\/half-of-cape-town-airbnb-users-need-the-app-to-afford-their-homes-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Half of Cape Town Airbnb users need the app to afford their homes: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Up to 52% of Cape Town Airbnb hosts use the online home sharing service to afford their homes, the company revealed on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview with\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fin24.com\/Tech\/Companies\/over-half-of-capetonians-use-airbnb-to-cover-bills-20171110\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News24<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Airbnb Southern Africa regional market consultant Velma Corcoran said that\u00a0out of the 43,000 Airbnb listings in South Africa, 17,000 are in Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019ve met countless Airbnb hosts in Cape Town and seen how home sharing has helped them pay their bills and stay in their homes,&#8221;
