Communication Minister Dina Pule has appointed non-executive members to the board of Postbank, Usaasa.<\/p>\n
“The board has the immediate task of completing the corporatisation of the Postbank and appointing a managing director for the bank,” she said in a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n
“The board will have to expedite a process of ensuring that the bank is able to secure a banking licence.”<\/p>\n
All seven board members, who were approved by Cabinet, were given three-year contracts, effective from August 1.<\/p>\n
“We are moving with speed to ensure that we bring all citizens into the mainstream of the economy,” said Pule.<\/p>\n
She also appointed a new board at the Universal Service and Access Agency of SA (Usaasa).<\/p>\n
This board was tasked with appointing a new chief executive for Usaasa and focusing the agency on its goal of ensuring that every citizen has access to information and communication technology.<\/p>\n
The department said Pule was satisfied that the skills, experience and track record of all the board members would help the two state-owned companies deliver on their mandates.<\/p>\n
On the board of Postbank are: Mapula Modipa, Gillian Nonhlanhla Jiyane, Venete Klein, Mandla Mdluli, Boitumelo Matthews, Thabo Mosala, and Neo Lesela.<\/p>\n
On the board of Usaasa are: Phumla Radebe (chair), Angie Maseko (deputy chair), Charlotte Mampane, Sam Ledwaba, Raj Lalbahadur, Seadimo Chaba, Maxwell Nonge, Kenosi Moroka and Lerato Ndoro.<\/p>\n
