Retail giant Makro has opened a massive new flagship store in Riversands, north of Fourways in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

The store measures 23,263m\u00b2 in size and is modeled more on a department store instead of the more accustomed Makro warehouse.<\/p>\n

Boasting ladies- and men\u2019s-wear departments, a multimedia center, sports and recreation department, baby goods, office supplies, DIY and a combined outdoor, lifestyle and camping section, the store also offers a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, a butchery, and chilled and frozen foods for retail shoppers, caterers and businesses alike.<\/p>\n

“Extra skylights brighten up every aisle, which along with solar panels in the parking area and responsible use of water throughout, help minimize the store\u2019s carbon footprint,” Makro said.<\/p>\n
