{"id":214099,"date":"2017-11-30T15:20:46","date_gmt":"2017-11-30T13:20:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=214099"},"modified":"2017-11-30T15:20:46","modified_gmt":"2017-11-30T13:20:46","slug":"mtn-cuts-out-of-bundle-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/telecommunications\/214099\/mtn-cuts-out-of-bundle-rates\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN cuts out-of-bundle rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MTN has launched a two-tier model for out-of-bundle pricing, offering low-usage subscribers a cheaper rate.<\/p>\n<p>Dubbed \u201cSteppa\u201d, subscribers who consistently use less than 5MB of out-of-bundle data per month will be offered a rate of R0.29 per MB.<\/p>\n<p>When you use more than 5MB of OOB data, the rate increases to R0.60 per MB \u2013 provided a subscriber has opted in.<\/p>\n<p>To opt in , subscribers must dial the USSD code *130*1#. This is a once-off procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The new rates will become available from 1 December.<\/p>\n<p>MTN has also launched a new prepaid 1GB data bundle priced at R50.
