Pieter Uys<\/a>, Vodacom<\/a>‘s former CEO stepped down from the board on\u00a0Thursday (6 September)\u00a0and has been replaced by Shameel Joosub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Joosub\u00a0will also take up the role\u00a0of managing director of Vodacom South Africa.<\/p>\n

Paolo Bertoluzzo<\/a>, non-executive director, has taken up a new role as chief executive officer: Southern Europe at Vodafone<\/a>. In view of this, Bertoluzzo\u00a0has stepped down from the board.<\/p>\n

Karen Witts<\/a>, non-executive director, is also set to leave Vodafone at the end of September\u00a0to take up a position at another FTSE top 100 company. As a result she has\u00a0resigned from the board.<\/p>\n

Serpil Timuray<\/a> (B Admin) has joined the board. Serpil is the\u00a0CEO of Vodafone Turkey, having joined Vodafone in January 2009. She was the\u00a0former CEO of Danone Turkey and began her career in 1991 with Procter & Gamble\u00a0where she was later appointed to the executive committee of P&G Turkey.<\/p>\n

John Otty<\/a> (MA Electronic Engineeering) (ACA) has also joined Vodacom’s board. He is the Vodafone CFO for Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific region.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0joined Vodafone in December 1992 from KMPG Peat Marwick and has held a number of\u00a0senior executive positions in Vodafone including that of group technology financial
\ndirector, interim CFO of Vodafone India and Vodafone plc group internal audit director.<\/p>\n

Peter Moyo, chairman of the board,\u00a0paid tribute to Uys\u00a0for his dedication and commitment as CEO for the past four years.<\/p>\n
