Times Media Group<\/a> is set to list on the main board of the JSE<\/a> in the media sector on September 10 under the abbreviated name TIMESG and with the share code of TMG.<\/p>\n

Monday will also see the suspension of the listing of Avusa<\/a> ordinary shares on the\u00a0local\u00a0bourse.\u00a0Times Media will house all of Avusa\u2019s assets.<\/p>\n

Avusa\u2019s media brands include Sunday Times, The Times, The Sowetan, Sunday World, Daily Dispatch, The Herald, ELLE, Home Owner; and others.<\/p>\n

The group also has BDFM under its stable, albeit in the form of a joint venture with UK publisher Pearson.\u00a0Additional brands include Exclusive Books, and Nu Metro.<\/p>\n

Last month Avusa shareholders approved its sale to\u00a0Mvelaphanda Group<\/a>\u00a0through its wholly owned subsidiary,\u00a0Times Media Group.<\/p>\n

In mid-June,\u00a0Mvelaphanda Group<\/a>\u201a which owns about 21% of\u00a0Avusa<\/a>\u201a announced a cash and share offer to acquire all the shares in issue in the media and entertainment company that it did not already own, in a deal worth about R3-billion, or R24 per Avusa share.<\/p>\n
