{"id":217049,"date":"2017-12-18T12:37:43","date_gmt":"2017-12-18T10:37:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=217049"},"modified":"2017-12-18T12:37:43","modified_gmt":"2017-12-18T10:37:43","slug":"you-can-now-book-an-uber-using-bbm-messenger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/217049\/you-can-now-book-an-uber-using-bbm-messenger\/","title":{"rendered":"You can now book an Uber using BBM Messenger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Creative Media Works, operating as BBM Messenger, has partnered with Uber to launch an Uber ride-on-demand service within BBM Messenger.<\/p>\n<p>Users around the world will have access to this new service, including Indonesia &#8211; BBM\u2019s largest market &#8211; Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>The tie-up means that BBM Messenger users \u2013 both Android and iOS &#8211; can book an Uber ride via the Uber icon in the BBM Discover menu, without leaving the BBM app or having to have the stand-alone Uber app on their phone.<\/p>\n<p>When launched from the Discover menu, the new Uber service asks riders to sign in with their mobile number or connect with a social media account.<\/p>\n<p>Once riders log in, the service accesses their profile and settings, automatically detects their location, and loads a map.
