{"id":217357,"date":"2018-01-01T16:40:56","date_gmt":"2018-01-01T14:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=217357"},"modified":"2018-01-01T16:40:56","modified_gmt":"2018-01-01T14:40:56","slug":"new-cape-town-water-restrictions-begin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/217357\/new-cape-town-water-restrictions-begin\/","title":{"rendered":"New Cape Town water restrictions begin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Capetonians awoke to the first day of further water restrictions on Monday, water outages in various areas continued to plague the city.<\/p>\n<p>Parts of Zonnebloem, Glencairn, Constantia, Sea Point and Bellville were among nine locations which the municipality said \u2013 on its Twitter alert account \u2013 were experiencing \u201cwater outages\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Monday marks the start of level 6 water restrictions which will see water usage greater than 10 500 litres a month per household, classified as excessive and water management devices could be fitted at households exceeding that limit.<\/p>\n<p>Western Cape Premier Helen Zille marked the new year with a tweet celebrating the weather: \u201cSo wonderful to return to light rain in Cape Town. May rain see out the old year and herald the new.
