An industry source has confirmed that Cell C <\/a>and Vodacom<\/a> have signed a roaming agreement that will let Cell C roam on Vodacom\u2019s 3G network.<\/p>\n

Before this agreement was in place, Cell C only had a 2G roaming agreement in place with Vodacom.<\/p>\n

In May 2012, industry sources told MyBroadband BusinessTech that Cell C was in negotiations with both Vodacom and MTN<\/a> regarding a 3G roaming agreement.<\/p>\n

None of the networks wanted to confirm the discussions, and neither Cell C nor Vodacom was willing to confirm whether their new agreement included 3G.<\/p>\n

Spokespeople for Cell C and Vodacom have confirmed that they recently signed a new roaming agreement, however.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have reached agreement on the revised terms of our existing national roaming contract with Vodacom,\u201d Cell C said.<\/p>\n

The agreement is effective immediately, Cell C said, and the new terms are much more favourable to them.<\/p>\n

However, the details of the agreement are confidential, Cell C said.<\/p>\n
