Listed ICT and telecommunications group Reunert<\/a> has merged two key business units, Nashua Communications<\/a> and Nashua ECN<\/a> which will trade under the new name of Nashua Communications.<\/p>\n

The new entity will be headed up by the current Nashua ECN managing director, Andy Openshaw<\/a> and will drive the group’s converged offering.<\/p>\n

Dave Rawlinson<\/a>, CEO of Reunert said: \u00a0\u201cThis announcement is the culmination of months of thought and discussion and has the full support of both of the company\u2019s management teams.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nashua Communications currently operates predominantly in the local area networking (LAN) space offering on premise communication and networking solutions.<\/p>\n

Nashua ECN has a national IP-based network with points of presence and data centres in all the major metropolitan areas and currently operates in the voice, data and wide area networking (WAN) space.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe rationale behind the merger is allowing a single team to unlock the huge value of our complementary product offering and skill sets, in a drive to offer a premier converged communication offering to the South African corporate market,\u201d Rawlinson said.<\/p>\n

Nashua Communications will offer a host of voice, data and hosted solutions bundled together for on-premise, purely cloud or hybrid scenarios.<\/p>\n

The merger will be effective from the 1 October 2012 and coincide with the start of Reunert\u2019s financial year. The combined businesses will generate over R1 billion in turnover with a staff count of roughly 600.<\/p>\n

Graeme Eddey<\/a>, CFO, and Jan Holtzhausen<\/a>, COO of Nashua Communications, said in an announcement to staff: \u201cThe bringing together of these two companies will unlock tremendous value and will position us as a true premier converged communications solution provider.\u201d<\/p>\n

Openshaw said in a letter to the staff of both companies: \u201cI am convinced that we will make a success of this tremendous opportunity and I look forward to an exciting year ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reunert says it aims to make Nashua Communications the company of choice for enterprise customers in Southern Africa by providing innovative communication solutions and service excellence.<\/p>\n

Nashua Communications is focused on delivering comprehensive, end-to-end communication solutions to enterprise customers in Southern Africa via our channels to market with service excellence, Reunert said.<\/p>\n
