ICT services group, Gijima<\/a> says it will look both internally and externally – including at an international level – in appointing a new chief executive officer, following the resignation of Jonas Bogoshi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bogoshi\u2019s resignation from the struggling firm is effective at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Bogoshi told BusinessTech that the task to look for a replacement had not yet started. \u201cI have not thought about where I want to go, I have just completed five years (at Gijima),\u201d Bogoshi said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been a very challenging period, but now that we have gone through all of that, we have cut costs, we have restructured the business, it\u2019s time for somebody else to come in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company chief stated that he intended to remain in the private sector.<\/p>\n

Bogoshi said that the company would be looking both internally, externally, and internationally for a replacement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile there will be a formal handover period of three months, the board would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Bogoshi for his hard work over the past five years and wishes him well in his pursuit of new endeavours,\u201d Gijima said in a statement on Wednesday (26 September).<\/p>\n

Gijima\u00a0reported a decline in revenue for the 12 months ended 30 June 2012,\u00a0to R2.53 billion, from R2.56 billion in 2011; but the group reduced its operating loss to R49.1 million, from R258.2 million before.<\/p>\n

The company said its results were significantly impacted by the cost of establishing its client-centric business\u00a0model, the loss of two significant contracts, as well as the cost of an internal optimisation programme.<\/p>\n
