has the best mobile network in South Africa: research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Research by MyBroadband shows that MTN has the best mobile network in South Africa, and also tops the quality rankings in Gauteng, Cape Town, and Durban.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>This is according to MyBroadband\u2019s Q1 2018 Mobile Network Quality Report, which is based on 142,537 speed tests recorded through the MyBroadband Android Speed Test App between 1 January 2018 and 31 March 2018.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The report shows that South Africa had an average mobile download speed of 20.03Mbps during the period.\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u>MTN had the highest average download speed at 24.12Mbps, followed by Vodacom on 21.26Mbps, Cell C on 15.95Mbps, and Telkom on 15.20Mbps.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best mobile network in South Africa<\/strong><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>To determine the best mobile network in South Africa, a \u201cNetwork Quality Score\u201d was calculated for each network using a range of performance measurements.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The Network Quality Score out of 10 shows how the network performed in relation to other networks.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>MTN topped the ranking with a Network Quality Score of 9.92, followed by Vodacom on 9.01, Cell C on 6.72, and Telkom on 6.54.<\/p>\n<p><a Score of 9.99, followed by Vodacom on 9.34, Cell C on 7.37, and Telkom on 6.18.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\"
