{"id":243685,"date":"2018-05-11T07:27:28","date_gmt":"2018-05-11T05:27:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=243685"},"modified":"2018-05-11T07:27:28","modified_gmt":"2018-05-11T05:27:28","slug":"huawei-to-make-bitcoin-available-on-its-devices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/243685\/huawei-to-make-bitcoin-available-on-its-devices\/","title":{"rendered":"Huawei to make Bitcoin available on its devices"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>Users of Huawei Technologies Co\u2019s mobile phones will be able to download Bitcoin wallets on their devices for the first time starting Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Huawei, the world\u2019s third-biggest handset maker, is releasing BTC.com\u2019s Bitcoin wallet in its AppGallery, according to Alejandro de la Torre, BTC.com\u2019s vice president of business operations.<\/p>\n<p>The BTC.com wallet will be the first cryptocurrency app offered by Shenzhen-based Huawei. The AppGallery will be pre-installed on all new Huawei and Honor phones and will be rolled out to older devices in the coming months, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The move will likely have the most impact in the Chinese market, where Huawei is the biggest mobile phone seller.
