{"id":24646,"date":"2012-10-19T15:41:08","date_gmt":"2012-10-19T13:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=24646"},"modified":"2012-10-22T09:27:47","modified_gmt":"2012-10-22T07:27:47","slug":"it-jobs-in-sa-good-news-and-bad-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/24646\/it-jobs-in-sa-good-news-and-bad-news\/","title":{"rendered":"IT jobs in SA: good news and bad news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The latest CareerJunction Index (CJI) shows that employment has weakened in South Africa over the last few months, with the telecommunications sector being hit particularly hard.<\/p>\n<p>The CJI, which uses data gathered from the <a title=\"CareerJunction\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/3606-CareerJunction\">CareerJunction<\/a> website to represent online labour dynamics in South Africa, shows that the demand in most industries is declining.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall, employment has weakened over the last few months. September marks month 4 of decreasing hiring activity in the South African telecommunication industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYear-on-year, employment has weakened by 36%. decline of recruitment activity in South Africa, demand for IT professionals remains high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe IT industry remains one of the most sought after industries in the online recruitment
