{"id":253457,"date":"2018-06-22T10:44:43","date_gmt":"2018-06-22T08:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=253457"},"modified":"2018-06-22T10:46:36","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T08:46:36","slug":"11-things-that-cost-more-in-south-africa-than-they-did-a-year-ago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/finance\/253457\/11-things-that-cost-more-in-south-africa-than-they-did-a-year-ago\/","title":{"rendered":"11 things that cost more in South Africa today than they did a year ago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Statistics South Africa has released the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.statssa.gov.za\/publications\/P0141\/P0141May2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consumer Price Index (CPI)<\/a> <\/strong>for May 2018, detailing the changes in the price level of market basket of consumer goods and services purchased by South African households.<\/p>\n<p>Annual consumer price inflation was 4.4% in May 2018, down from 4.5% in April 2018.
