{"id":253801,"date":"2018-06-25T08:15:31","date_gmt":"2018-06-25T06:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=253801"},"modified":"2018-06-25T08:15:31","modified_gmt":"2018-06-25T06:15:31","slug":"the-best-companies-to-work-for-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/253801\/the-best-companies-to-work-for-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"The best companies to work for in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Branding firm, Universum, has released its Most Attractive Employer rankings for 2018 &#8211; listing the companies that South African\u00a0professionals are most keen to work for.<\/p>\n<p>The rankings are based on a survey of more than 22,000 professionals &#8211;\u00a0 which covered a wide range of questions relating to future employment and career goals, as well as other attributes that make an employer attractive, like work-life balance.<\/p>\n<p>Universum&#8217;s results are across key sectors categories including business and commerce, technology and engineering, and natural sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The research also generated a range of in-depth insights that shed light into how talent evaluates employer brands, what they find attractive in these employers, and ultimately, which employers are the most attractive in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The insights have showed that while having high awareness levels is imperative for employer brands, those levels do not always translate to desire to work for an employer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite the high unemployment levels talent is facing, they are reporting that being aware of an employer and their staffing needs is not enough to drive the desire to work for that employer,&#8221; said Universum\u2019s Winani Ndlovu.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Employers need to clearly articulate their value proposition to assist them in making an informed decision before joining the organisation. Clearly having a strong employer brand is imperative for the attraction and retention of talent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These include employer preferences, salary expectations, concerns relating to employment, goals, both short and long term, expectations around training and development, the importance of corporate culture, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Universum&#8217;s list list of most attractive
