{"id":26718,"date":"2012-11-16T13:23:05","date_gmt":"2012-11-16T11:23:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=26718"},"modified":"2012-11-16T13:45:16","modified_gmt":"2012-11-16T11:45:16","slug":"sa-and-ireland-partner-in-ict-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/it-services\/26718\/sa-and-ireland-partner-in-ict-business\/","title":{"rendered":"SA and Ireland partner in ICT business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Irish companies have embarked on a trade mission to form partnerships with South African businesses, focussing largely on the ICT, education and financial sectors of the country.<\/p>\n<p>A trade mission involving 35 companies was organised by <a title=\"Enterprise Ireland\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/6096-Enterprise-Ireland\">Enterprise Ireland<\/a> in close co-operation with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Embassy of Ireland in Pretoria.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2012, Enterprise Ireland opened an office in Johannesburg, which acts as a hub for supporting Irish companies in growing their trade relationships and export sales in South Africa, and in the wider Sub-Saharan African market of over 900 million people.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day mission involved major networking events between SA and Irish businesses, as well as 16 individual company meetings with Irish companies and their South African partners.<\/p>\n<p>Irish companies forged partnerships and contracts with some of South Africa&#8217;s biggest ICT players, including JSE-listed ICT solutions company, <a title=\"Jasco\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/3481-Jasco\">Jasco<\/a>, and SA&#8217;s largest mobile operator, <a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1639-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Druid Software\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/6097-Druid-Software\"><strong>Druid Software<\/strong><\/a>, the Irish mobile network software development company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with <strong>Jasco<\/strong> to supply fixed mobile converged solutions to enterprise customers in sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"The Now Factory\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/6098-The-Now-Factory\"><strong>The Now Factory<\/strong><\/a> signed a new contract with <strong>Vodacom<\/strong> for its Mobile Moments Vantage solution, enabling the South Africa-based operator to accurately measure the performance of its data network in real time and optimise the customer experience of its 31 million subscribers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In marketing, the <a title=\"Digital Marketing Institute\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/6099-Digital-Marketing-Institute\"><strong>Digital Marketing Institute<\/strong><\/a> agreed a partnership with <a title=\"Vega School of Brand Leadership\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/6100-Vega-School-of-Brand-Leadership\"><strong>Vega School of Brand Leadership<\/strong><\/a> that will see over 3,000 students undertake digital marketing training in South Africa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis was a highly successful mission both in terms of business secured and in terms of the introductions and connections made.
