{"id":276355,"date":"2018-10-13T08:00:35","date_gmt":"2018-10-13T06:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=276355"},"modified":"2018-10-12T17:10:03","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T15:10:03","slug":"these-are-top-10-car-brands-in-the-world-and-how-much-theyre-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/276355\/these-are-top-10-car-brands-in-the-world-and-how-much-theyre-worth\/","title":{"rendered":"These are top 10 car brands in the world \u2013 and how much they\u2019re worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Global branding consultancy Interbrand has published its annual Best Global Brands report for 2018, showing which international brands dominate and carry the most value.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interbrand.com\/best-brands\/best-global-brands\/2018\/ranking\/#?filter=Automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> ranks the world\u2019s top 100 brands by brand value, which is\u00a0based on three key components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The financial performance of the branded products and services;<\/li>\n<li>The role the brand plays in influencing customer choice;<\/li>\n<li>The strength the brand has to command a premium price or secure earnings for the company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report again named Apple as the most valuable brand in 2018, with the top 100 list dominated by technology companies.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Apple<\/li>\n<li>Google<\/li>\n<li>Amazon<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft<\/li>\n<li>Coca Cola<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The list of vehicle brands is headed by Toyota, which saw its value increase by 6% from 2017, while second-placed Mercedes-Benz improved by 2%.
