{"id":277303,"date":"2018-10-15T10:12:32","date_gmt":"2018-10-15T08:12:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=277303"},"modified":"2018-10-15T10:12:32","modified_gmt":"2018-10-15T08:12:32","slug":"these-are-the-best-executive-mbas-in-the-world-including-one-from-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wealth\/277303\/these-are-the-best-executive-mbas-in-the-world-including-one-from-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"These are the best executive MBAs in the world including one from South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Financial Times has released its latest\u00a0global Executive MBA (EMBA) ranking, looking at the best 100 programmes offered globally.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Financial Times, EMBA graduates are more likely to work in industry and manufacturing than younger alumni from full-time MBAs and masters in management courses \u2014 and less likely to be employed in finance or consulting.<\/p>\n<p>To be a part of the report, the school must be accredited by either the US\u2019s Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or the European Equis.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the EMBA must be cohort-based\u00a0with at least 30 students enrolling and graduating together each year.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 4,680 alumni completed the survey with their responses informing five ranking criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>salary today;<\/li>\n<li>salary increase;<\/li>\n<li>career progress;<\/li>\n<li>work experience;<\/li>\n<li>aims achieved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The joint programme offered by the Kellogg School of Management and HKUST Business School was ranked top overall for the third consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>Its alumni also have the highest average salary three years after graduation at $507,000 (R7.3 million) &#8211; almost $140,000 (R2 million) greater than the second-highest earners from the Olin Business School at the University of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Only one school from South Africa was featured on the list &#8211;
