Apple\u2019s iTunes Store has been launched in over 50 new countries today (4 December 2012), including South Africa, the company announced in a press statement this morning.<\/p>\n

According to Apple the iTunes Store features local artists including Elka in Russia, Sezen Aksu in Turkey, AR Rahman in India, and Zahara in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Users can choose from over 20 million songs available to purchase and download on the iTunes Store.<\/p>\n

In the press statement Apple also said that movie fans can choose from a wide selection of films available for rent or purchase from the iTunes Store.<\/p>\n

However, at the time of writing movies were not available in the South African store.<\/p>\n

The \u201cGames\u201d category is also still not available in the South African iTunes App Store.<\/p>\n

This means that South Africans that want the full line-up of content from iTunes will still need to use the iTunes Stores in countries that include everything, such as the US or UK.<\/p>\n
