{"id":27911,"date":"2012-12-05T13:56:04","date_gmt":"2012-12-05T11:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=27911"},"modified":"2012-12-05T13:57:59","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T11:57:59","slug":"mxit-in-mobile-app-experiment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/27911\/mxit-in-mobile-app-experiment\/","title":{"rendered":"Mxit in mobile app experiment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Native Inventions, the devlopment arm of Native marketing, has teamed up with social networking platform, Mxit, to launch 10 experimental applications that aim to bring a taste of smartphone capability to feature phone handsets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving a beautiful, feature rich iPhone app is great, but in South Africa it means your brand is speaking to a very small percentage of the total market,&#8221; said Levon Rivers, head of Native Inventions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With Mxit we have the potential to engage with millions of users, most of whom are not accessible on other social networks such as Twitter and Facebook,\u201d Rivers said.<\/p>\n<p>The first batch of mobile products seeks to bring smartphone capabilities and experiences to feature phone users, Native said.<\/p>\n<p>Mxit was selected as the first technology partner.<\/p>\n<p>The applications are experimental platforms that range from functional to being a bit silly.
