The car did not include seat belt pre-tensioners.<\/p>\n<p>Using the child seats recommended by VW, the Polo Vivo achieved a three-star rating for child protection.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Volkswagen Polo Vivo scores 3 stars\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QATSSgFvPmk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Datsun GO+<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The GO+ achieved a one-star rating for its poor adult occupant protection mainly in the Driver\u2019s chest in the frontal crash test at 64km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle structure was rated as unstable, steering wheel movement, even though a steering wheel airbag was fitted, recorded high compression to the chest of the driver dummy.<\/p>\n<p>There was no airbag for the passenger. The Datsun GO+ achieved a two-star rating for child occupant protection using the child seats.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Datsun GO+ scores one star\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BSkcHuVPyTk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Chery QQ3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The QQ3 achieved a zero star rating for its poor adult occupant protection mainly in driver\u2019s head and chest.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle structure was rated as unstable as it showed collapsed in some relevant areas during the impact. Injury impacts recorded in the dummy head and chest, in particular, led to this result. There were no airbags for the adult passengers.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturer did not recommend specific child seats which explain most of the points loss for child occupant protection.<\/p>\n<p>The QQ3 was given a zero star rating for child occupant protection, considering the poor vehicle readiness to safely accommodate the child seats.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chery QQ3 scores zero stars\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cZXbUQonCCo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Nissan NP300 \u2018Hardbody\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NP300 \u2018Hardbody\u2019 achieved an alarming zero star rating for its poor adult occupant protection mainly in the driver head and chest areas in the frontal crash test at 64km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle structure collapsed during the crash test and it was rated as unstable.<\/p>\n<p>The steering wheel column did not collapse penetrating the passengers\u2019 compartment, creating an additional risk for the driver as it moved straight into the dummy chest.<\/p>\n<p>This performance showed a significant risk of injuries for the driver despite the car being equipped with double frontal airbags.<\/p>\n<p>The high probability of life-threatening injuries to the driver\u2019s head and chest resulted in the zero star adult occupant protection rating.<\/p>\n<p>Even with an airbag the driver\u2019s head and chest showed high biomechanical readings.<\/p>\n<p>The NP300 \u2018Hardbody\u2019 achieved two stars for child occupant protection, the low result is mainly explained by the decision of the car manufacturer to install one of the Child seats without following Child seat manufacturer clear instructions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Shocking Zero for the Nissan \u2018Hardbody\u2019\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/w6IsQSSSEj0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Toyota Yaris<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Yaris achieved a three-star rating for adult occupant protection in the frontal crash test at 64km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle structure was rated as unstable and offered marginal to good general adult occupant protection.<\/p>\n<p>The car provides seat belt reminders for both frontal positions. The car included seat belts with pre-tensioners for both front passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Using the child seats recommended by Toyota, the Yaris achieved a three-star rating for child occupant protection.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Toyota Yaris achieves three stars\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zXG6VR3ssfk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Hyundai i20<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The i20 achieved a three-star rating for adult occupant protection in the frontal crash test at 64km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle structure was rated as unstable, as was the footwell area.<\/p>\n<p>The protection levels ranged from marginal to good in adult occupant protection.<\/p>\n<p>The car offers seat belt pre-tensioners for both front passengers and seat belt reminder for the driver.<\/p>\n<p>Using the child seats recommended by Hyundai, the i20 achieved a two-star rating for child occupant protection explained by the limited protection offered to the 3-year-old dummy and lack of ISOFIX anchorages.<\/p>\n<p>The i20 structure is different to that of the European model. Safety equipment in South Africa does not offer Electronic Stability Control (ESC), side body airbags and side curtain airbags which are standard in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Hyundai i20 achieves three stars\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6ORWb2jGSFE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Kia Picanto<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Picanto achieved a three-star rating for adult occupant protection in the frontal crash test at 64km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle structure was rated as stable while the footwell area was rated as unstable.
