{"id":28194,"date":"2012-12-10T13:37:48","date_gmt":"2012-12-10T11:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=28194"},"modified":"2012-12-10T15:09:18","modified_gmt":"2012-12-10T13:09:18","slug":"snakes-uys-and-gupta-in-the-ict-policy-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/28194\/snakes-uys-and-gupta-in-the-ict-policy-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Snakes, Uys and Gupta to advise DoC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African Minister of Communications, Dina Pule, announced the ICT Policy Review Panel in a media statement issued on Monday (10 December 2012).<\/p>\n<p>This panel will advise the Department of Communications (DoC) as it proceeds towards developing a Green Paper and later, a White Paper on an integrated national information and communications technology (ICT) policy, the press release said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of the respondents are people that we have worked with before and they bring a wealth of experience to our processes,\u201d said Pule.<\/p>\n<p>The DoC said that the panel will be divided into the six focus areas: broadcasting, telecommunications and information technology, postal, content development, digitising government, and investment and manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>The panel\u2019s first meeting is scheduled for January 2013, a further three meetings are scheduled for the rest of next year.
