Several of the South Africa’s largest retailers have announced ‘early’ Black Friday<\/a> deals to cash in on what has become the biggest shopping week on the calendar.<\/p>\n

Companies who have taken part in the growing shopping phenomenon, have reported record sales, particularly from their online sales divisions.<\/p>\n

Makro, an early adopter of the American tradition, reported a record Black Friday with over R1 billion in sales in 2017. Sales over the period, it said, increased 25%, with online sales increasing to over 15% of total sales.<\/p>\n

Makro\u2019s sale will run over a five day period \u2013 from 21 to 25 November \u2013 with over 26,000 lines on promotion. It has also extended its trading hours over this period<\/p>\n
