{"id":287096,"date":"2018-11-26T12:41:20","date_gmt":"2018-11-26T10:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=287096"},"modified":"2018-11-27T16:56:35","modified_gmt":"2018-11-27T14:56:35","slug":"ford-reveals-more-affordable-ecosport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/287096\/ford-reveals-more-affordable-ecosport\/","title":{"rendered":"Ford reveals more affordable EcoSport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ford EcoSport enjoys prominence on the sales charts in the compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment, having\u00a0 announced facelift for this model in June.<\/p>\n<p>The motoring group has introduced a new entry-level petrol-powered model in the form of the 1.5 Ti-VCT Ambiente.<\/p>\n<p>The 1.5 Ti-VCT Ambiente is the most affordable offering, followed by the 1.5 TDCi Ambiente which shares an identical level of standard specification, along with the five-speed manual gearbox.<\/p>\n<p>Powering the new addition to the EcoSport range is a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol engine that recently made its debut in the refreshed Ford Figo line-up.<\/p>\n<p>It also relies on twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) for the four-valves-per-cylinder engine to deliver improved low-down torque as well as top-end power. The fitment of a dual-stage variable oil pump further enhances efficiency, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.<\/p>\n<p>The 1.5 Ti-VCT engine is credited with a maximum power output of 91kW and peak torque of 150Nm, Ford said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite the new EcoSport 1.5 Ambiente being positioned as the entry-level model in the range, it is equipped with an outstanding level of standard features,&#8221; it said. The safety package incorporates Electronic Stability Control, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, rear parking sensors and manually activated &#8216;Follow-me-home&#8217; headlamps.<\/p>\n<p>Electric windows are fitted all round, along with remote central locking, a perimeter alarm, power heated side mirrors, air-conditioning and a towbar prep pack that enables easy dealer fitment of the optional towbar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ford EcoSport &#8211; Recommended Retail Prices:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1.5 Ti-VCT Ambiente 5MT: <strong>R254\u00a0950<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1.5 TDCi Ambiente 5MT: <strong>R267 500<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1.0 EcoBoost Trend 6MT: <strong>R293 500<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1.0 EcoBoost Trend 6AT: <strong>R306 900<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1.0 EcoBoost Titanium 6MT: <strong>R334 500<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1.0 EcoBoost Titanium 6AT: <strong>R346 900<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All models come standard with Ford Protect, comprising a four-year\/120 000km comprehensive warranty, three-year\/unlimited distance roadside assistance and five-year\/unlimited km corrosion warranty.
