{"id":288080,"date":"2018-11-29T12:10:02","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T10:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=288080"},"modified":"2018-11-29T12:37:09","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T10:37:09","slug":"load-shedding-will-hit-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/288080\/load-shedding-will-hit-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Load shedding will hit today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Power utility Eskom has announced that stage one load shedding will be in effect on Thursday (29 November) between 12h00 and 22h00.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a result of increased generation plant being out for planned maintenance and unplanned outages, stage one load shedding will be implemented,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Customers are advised to keep checking their load shedding schedules on the Eskom website or municipal websites to determine when they are due to get load shedding.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stage one load shedding allows for 1000MW to be shed nation wide.<\/p>\n<p>It is a last measure resort to protect the power system from total collapse or complete blackout.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We encourage residents and businesses to please use electricity sparingly to ease the demand.
