{"id":290186,"date":"2018-12-10T10:25:40","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T08:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=290186"},"modified":"2018-12-10T10:25:40","modified_gmt":"2018-12-10T08:25:40","slug":"uber-launches-phone-support-for-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/290186\/uber-launches-phone-support-for-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Uber launches phone support for South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uber has launched 24\/7 phone support for passengers and drivers across South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The ride hailing app said that users can access the feature by tapping &#8216;help&#8217; in the main menu of the app and then selecting the \u2018call\u2019 option to be connected to Uber\u2019s 24\/7 support team.<\/p>\n<p>Riders can also contact the Uber support team through the 24\/7 in-app messaging feature or visit help.uber.com for frequently asked questions, it said.<\/p>\n<p>However, Uber said that riders should still call 10111 or use the in-app emergency button which connects to its third-party security providers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our new 24\/7 phone support is the latest in a series of improvements we\u2019re making for both riders and drivers,&#8221; said Alon Lits, GM for Uber Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This follows the new app we\u2019ve introduced for drivers, in-app emergency button as well as Injury Protection cover in the event of an accident On-Trip.
