{"id":29248,"date":"2013-01-04T10:09:31","date_gmt":"2013-01-04T08:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=29248"},"modified":"2013-01-04T10:38:16","modified_gmt":"2013-01-04T08:38:16","slug":"absa-security-warning-explained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/29248\/absa-security-warning-explained\/","title":{"rendered":"Absa security warning explained"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Absa\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1877-Absa-Bank\">Absa<\/a> has confirmed the recent security issue with its Absa Capital website, explaining that its Retail Structured Products (RSP) and Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) websites displayed malware warnings when visited through the <a title=\"Google\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1719-Google\">Google<\/a> Chrome Browser.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the issue was resolved within 15 minutes of it being detected. We have since removed the sections on the websites that gave rise to this problem,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Absa explained that the problem came about when Google\u2019s automated tools detected malware in third party content displayed on the sites, involving an email sign-up and notification service for new product information that is hosted on a different server.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to assure all our customers that this issue was confined to the RSP and ETF websites and that only the home page was affected.
