{"id":2991,"date":"2012-01-17T13:34:03","date_gmt":"2012-01-17T13:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=2991"},"modified":"2012-01-17T13:36:14","modified_gmt":"2012-01-17T13:36:14","slug":"gautrain-sms-alerts-handled-by-nxt-digital-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/2991\/gautrain-sms-alerts-handled-by-nxt-digital-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"Gautrain SMS alerts handled by NXT\\ Digital Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Towards the end of October last year (2011), Gautrain launched an SMS alert system to provide passengers with news and keep them updated about any delays.<\/p>\n<p>NXT\\ Digital Innovation issued a press statement today saying that they were appointed by Gautrain to implement and manage the system.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Levine, NXT\\ Digital Innovation MD, notes that over 7,000 commuters have already signed up for the service, highlighting its potential for cost-effective marketing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The system will also offer Gautrain a highly cost-effective means of marketing to its user base travelling between Pretoria, Johannesburg and OR Tambo International Airport, keeping them informed of new options and developments.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To activate the service, users need to SMS the word \u201calert\u201d to 32693.
