{"id":3011,"date":"2012-01-26T12:32:18","date_gmt":"2012-01-26T12:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=3011"},"modified":"2012-01-26T12:34:26","modified_gmt":"2012-01-26T12:34:26","slug":"ad-dynamo-takes-on-google-through-personal-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/3011\/ad-dynamo-takes-on-google-through-personal-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Ad Dynamo takes on Google through personal service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314567-Google\" target=\"_blank\">Google<\/a> has a dominant position in the global online advertising market, generating revenues in excess of $30 billion per year.<\/p>\n<p>A small South African company called <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/399213-Ad-Dynamo\" target=\"_blank\">Ad Dynamo<\/a> has taken on Google in the contextual advertising market in South Africa, and has been successful in convincing numerous large clients to direct some of their marketing budget towards their platform.<\/p>\n<p>Ad Dynamo was formally launched in early 2009 by Entelligence and Remgro&#8217;s venture capital fund, Invenfin, which holds 50% each in the business.<\/p>\n<p>Only two years later and the company\u2019s South African operations are already \u201cvery profitable\u201d, says Ad Dynamo CEO Sean Riley. \u201cThe business as a whole generates healthy revenue and we anticipate being profitable as a global business late 2012.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riley said that they have partnered with websites like Private Property, Hello Magazine, and Glam Media to display their ads. Their clients include most large South African advertising agencies, Red Bull, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/211580-Microsoft\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft<\/a>, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/313865-Vodafone-UK\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a>, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226943-MTN\" target=\"_blank\">MTN<\/a>, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/313661-Standard-Bank\" target=\"_blank\">Standard Bank<\/a>, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307757-FNB-First-National-Bank\" target=\"_blank\">First National Bank<\/a> and Ackermans.<\/p>\n<p>To take on a large international player like Google is not easy, especially with the search giant\u2019s superior reach and excellent automated advertising systems.<\/p>\n<p>Riley says that the secret to Ad Dynamo\u2019s success is personal service. \u201cWe service every publisher and advertiser personally.
