Forbes has listed the top paid executives of 2012, and top-earning CEOs had a bumper year with stock gains padding compensation considerably.<\/p>\n

The executive which brought home the most money in 2012 is John Hammergren<\/a>, the president, chairman and CEO of\u00a0 McKesson Corporation<\/a> – an American medical and scientific supplies company.<\/p>\n

Hammergren’s compensation for 2012 was boosted by over $112 million in stock gains. McKesson brought in a net income (profits after tax) of $1.4 billion in its full-year reporting, ending March 2012.<\/p>\n

Ralph Lauren<\/a>, founder of the clothing brand of the same name, brought in under half of Hammergren’s earnings in 2012 with $66.6 million, placing second, overall.<\/p>\n

Jeffery Boyd<\/a>, CEO and president of travel services website, Priceline.com<\/a>, makes a strong showing for online companies, bringing in total compensation of $50.18 million, bolstered by $30.24 million in stock gains.<\/p>\n

Highest paid tech executives<\/h3>\n

When it comes to the tech sector, specifically, Qualcomm<\/a> CEO, Paul Jacobs<\/a>, raked in over $36 million in 2012, bolstered by over $28 million in stock gains on top of his $1.15 million salary and $5.5 million bonus.<\/p>\n

Jacobs placed 20th, overall, being the only tech executive to crack the top 25.<\/p>\n

Other big tech players, such as Oracle<\/a>‘s Lawrence Ellison<\/a> and Apple<\/a>‘s chief, Tim Cook<\/a>, placed outside of the top 100, overall, earning a 2012 total of well over $14 million dollars, each.<\/p>\n
