{"id":304646,"date":"2019-03-11T14:49:20","date_gmt":"2019-03-11T12:49:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=304646"},"modified":"2019-03-11T14:49:20","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T12:49:20","slug":"samsung-pay-is-coming-to-discovery-bank-and-investec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/304646\/samsung-pay-is-coming-to-discovery-bank-and-investec\/","title":{"rendered":"Samsung Pay is coming to Discovery Bank and Investec"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Samsung Pay has already generated 400,000 purchase transactions since launching in South Africa in August 2018.<\/p>\n<p>This success was achieved through strong partnerships with banking institutions including Absa and Standard Bank, Samsung said in a statement on Monday (11 March).<\/p>\n<p>It added that the service was recently expanded to FNB and RMB Private Bank, and will be made available to Investec and Discovery Bank customers soon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re excited to offer this innovative technology to more South Africans and are confident that the nation will continue to embrace the convenience of Samsung Pay with great enthusiasm,&#8221; said Justin Hume, director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung Pay allows users to load their bank cards onto supported smartphones or watches.
