Former Vodacom<\/a> COO, Sipho Maseko<\/a> says that the rumours of him being in discussion with Telkom<\/a> about the position of CEO are false.<\/p>\n

Telkom\u2019s current CEO, Nombulelo Moholi<\/a>, announced her resignation in November 2012 and will leave the company in April 2013.<\/p>\n

Industry rumours suggest that Maseko is being considered for the top job at Telkom. Maseko\u2019s telecoms experience and his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of BP Southern Africa makes him a logical candidate to consider.<\/p>\n

However, Maseko denied that he is in discussions with Telkom to take over from Moholi. Maseko told MyBroadband that he has not been in contact with Telkom, and that he is honouring his restraint of trade with Vodacom.<\/p>\n

No specific candidates under consideration: Telkom<\/h3>\n

Telkom said that its board has embarked on a process to identify and appoint a suitable candidate to take over from Moholi as Telkom group CEO.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this stage there are no specific candidates under consideration. The board has not started the interview process as yet and as such it is inappropriate to comment on individuals and speculate whether they have applied or not,\u201d Telkom said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, the Telkom board is yet to meet to discuss any shortlisting,\u201d Telkom added.<\/p>\n
