FNB<\/a> CEO, Michael Jordaan<\/a> is planning to step down from the bank at the end of 2013, according to a Moneyweb report.<\/p>\n

The news has been confirmed by two sources close to the bank, according to Moneyweb, though it remains unclear whether Jordaan has officially resigned or not.<\/p>\n

Taking to Twitter<\/a>, the FNB CEO neither confirmed nor denied the report, simply stating “Speculative”, before taking off on a plane.<\/p>\n

FNB was not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n

According to the Moneyweb report, two analysts which the news publications spoke to said they had not received official news on a possible departure, but that the news wouldn\u2019t be surprising, as Jordaan had stated before that he would like to get involved in other opportunities.<\/p>\n

Jordaan has been FNB’s CEO since 2004 after heading the customer solutions division for FirstRand<\/a>. He also pioneered the advent of eBucks<\/a> in SA.<\/p>\n
