The new tax head said SARS will put those who&#8217;ve flown under the radar in the spotlight, get past and present taxes out of them, and prosecute them without fear or favour. [City Press]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Estimates of how many South Africans have left the country for better prospects elsewhere range between 900,000 and 2.7 million &#8211; however the Homecoming Revolution notes that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.702.co.za\/articles\/344111\/skilled-south-africans-black-and-white-are-leaving-sa-in-droves-or-are-they\">as many as 400,000 skilled professionals have returned.<\/a> <\/strong>[702]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>ANC elections head Fikile Mbalula says<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.enca.com\/news\/candidate-list-not-cast-stone-anc\"> the party&#8217;s election list is not set in stone, and can be changed.<\/a><\/strong> He said it is\u00a0 now up to the party&#8217;s ethics committee to determine which names, if any, need to be taken off the list &#8211; and the recommendations would be implemented. [ENCA]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>South Africa&#8217;s lagging economy is one of the major reasons for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/southAfricaNews\/idAFL8N21Q3YH\">World Bank cutting its growth prospects for Southern Africa as a whole<\/a><\/strong> from 3.3% to 2.8% for 2019. The regions other big economies, being Nigeria and Angola, are also suffering slowdowns, the bank said.
