{"id":31015,"date":"2013-02-01T12:55:51","date_gmt":"2013-02-01T10:55:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=31015"},"modified":"2013-02-04T11:12:11","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T09:12:11","slug":"icasa-councillor-targetted-in-hit-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/telecommunications\/31015\/icasa-councillor-targetted-in-hit-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Icasa councillor targeted in hit &#8211; report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Icasa councillor, Joseph Lebooa, claims he was hijacked, beaten up and dumped in an attempt to &#8220;persuade&#8221; him to drop an attempt to close down Wireless Business Soultions (WBS) in an ongoing investigation, according to a Mail &amp; Guardian report.<\/p>\n<p>WBS, which, along with iBurst, is a subsidiary of WBS Holdings, denied any link to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Mail &amp; Guardian, Lebooa said he issued a letter of demand last week requiring WBS to pay outstanding fees for several radio links or face being shut down.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Lebooa said he was followed from a meeting in Midrand and hijacked by a group of at least six men.<\/p>\n<p>They indicated there was a problem with the rear of his vehicle and persuaded him to stop.
