{"id":31052,"date":"2013-02-03T10:37:29","date_gmt":"2013-02-03T08:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=31052"},"modified":"2013-02-04T08:55:23","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T06:55:23","slug":"dina-pules-boyfriend-paid-r6-million-for-4-days-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/31052\/dina-pules-boyfriend-paid-r6-million-for-4-days-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Dina Pule&#8217;s boyfriend paid R6 million for 4 days: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sunday Times reported that communications minister <a title=\"Dina Pule\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2128-Dina-Pule\">Dina Pule<\/a>\u2019s boyfriend, <a title=\"Phosane Mngqibisa\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/4594-Phosane-Mngqibisa\">Phosane Mngqibisa<\/a> was paid R6-million in management fees for the 2012 <a title=\"ICT Indaba\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/4596-ICT-Indaba\">ICT Indaba<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report further suggests that the conference organisers were forced by the Department of Communications (<a title=\"DoC\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2129-DoC-Department-of-Communications\">DoC<\/a>) to hire Mngqibisa.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday Times cited two forensic documents which showed that Mngqibisa was not really involved in the organisation of the event, despite being paid R6-million.<\/p>\n<p>News emerged last year that the DoC pressured <a title=\"Telkom\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1637-Telkom\">Telkom<\/a>, <a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1640-MTN-Group\">MTN<\/a> and <a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1639-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a> to sponsor the event.
