{"id":311172,"date":"2019-04-14T07:32:47","date_gmt":"2019-04-14T05:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=311172"},"modified":"2019-04-14T07:32:47","modified_gmt":"2019-04-14T05:32:47","slug":"eskom-coo-appointed-to-international-research-organisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/311172\/eskom-coo-appointed-to-international-research-organisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Eskom COO appointed to international research organisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eskom\u2019s chief operating officer Jan Oberholzer has been appointed to the board of directors of international research organisation the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).<\/p>\n<p>The power utility said in a statement that a seat on the board gives Eskom direct access to some of the most cutting edge energy research available, and offered the company a position to influence EPRI\u2019s strategic direction and work programme.<\/p>\n<p>EPRI conducted research and development related to the generation, delivery, and use of electricity for the benefit of the public. EPRI\u2019s international participation extended to more than 30 countries, including South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wish to congratulate Mr Oberholzer on his appointment as part of the board at EPRI.
