Reports point to cabinet being cut to 25 ministerial roles, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com\/SouthAfrica\/News\/cabinet-could-be-reduced-by-as-many-as-nine-departments-and-15-deputy-ministries-20190514\">but some analysts believe it could go as low as 9 departments<\/a><\/strong>. [News24]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>As unemployment spikes in the country, South Africa&#8217;s youth are faring a lot worse. T<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.enca.com\/business\/youth-unemployment-552\">he latest data from Stats SA shows that youth unemployment now sits at 55.2%<\/a><\/strong>. Analysts have cast doubt on government&#8217;s ability to follow through on the promise to create 300,000 new jobs a year. [ENCA]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>With contradicting messages coming from DA about its poor performance in the 2019 national election, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymaverick.co.za\/article\/2019-05-15-da-infighting-maimane-contradicts-party-chairs-comments-on-limp-election-performance\/\">the party has moved its federal council forward from July, to address the issues and ensure party unity doesn&#8217;t fray<\/a><\/strong>. DA leader Mmusi Maimane took personal responsibility for the loss, while the party&#8217;s chair said it was a collective failing.
