The UK business daily Financial Times (FT) will stop printing in South Africa mid-year, according to a report on Thursday (14 February).<\/p>\n
FT spokeswoman Emily Gibbs told Business Day that the paper would close its print site at Caxton Publishing in Johannesburg on July 24.<\/p>\n
“The decision reflects the increasingly multi-channel media consumption habits of our readers, as well as our continued investment in producing premium, award-winning editorial content from around the globe,” she said.<\/p>\n
Its print run in South Africa is about 1,400 daily copies, including weekend editions.<\/p>\n
In January,\u00a0Caxton and CTP Publishers and Printers\u201a which owns The Citizen\u201a acquired 10.44% of\u00a0Times Media Group\u201a the owner of Sunday Times.<\/p>\n
