Music downloaded from the store is DRM-free, BlackBerry said.

A quick survey of the songs available on the store revealed a wide selection of artists, including The Beatles, Walk off the Earth, Delain, Rammstein, Korpiklaani, and Linkin Park.

South African artists are also represented, with albums from Foto na Dans, Zahara, Fokofpolisiekar, and Hugh Masekela available.

Albums seem to sell for between R100 and R120, while individual songs costs R9.

More news on BlackBerry

BlackBerry 10 gets big-name music, video partners

BlackBerry 10 SA launch window

BlackBerry 10 in SA: more operators confirmed

RIM’s big BlackBerry comeback

The music store in BlackBerry World recently became available to South African users, offering a variety of music at around R9 per song.

[34
25,161,5088,853
post-32396","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-mobile","tag-active","tag-blackberry","tag-blackberry-music","tag-south-africa
["GET
