Forbes has listed the richest people in the world, featuring the biggest names in tech and the billions they’re worth in 2013.<\/p>\n

While the upper tiers of its billionaire’s list remains largely unchanged from 2012, Forbes has noted an increase of global billionaires to 1,426 individuals with a total net worth of $5.4 trillion.<\/p>\n

That means 201 new names have been added to the exclusive list, up from the 1,226 billionaire’s in 2012.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes, the United States still holds a majority of the world’s billionaires (422), with Asia-Pacific (386), Europe (366), the Americas (129), the Middle East & Africa (103) following suit.<\/p>\n

Mexican telecom mogul, Carlos Helu Slim<\/a>, retained his number one position as the world’s richest man – a title he’s held for the fourth year in a row – with a net worth of $73 billion.<\/p>\n

Microsoft<\/a> founder and former CEO, Bill Gates<\/a>, also retained his runner-up position at $67 billion.<\/p>\n

Amancio Ortega<\/a>, the man behind the Zara clothing brand, gained $19.5 billion over the past year, which made him the biggest gainer and pushed him to position of the third richest man in the world ($57 billion) – nudging popular investor, Warren Buffet ($53.5 billion), to fourth position.<\/p>\n

Larry Ellison<\/a>, CEO of Oracle<\/a> and the fresh owner of Hawaii Air, lands in the list at number 5, with a net worth of $43 billion.<\/p>\n

Online company heads also made a showing as part of the\u00a0 richest in the world, with Amazon.com<\/a>‘s CEO, Jeff Bezos<\/a> and Google<\/a>‘s chief, Larry Page<\/a>, breaching the bottom of the top 20 richest at 19 ($25.2 billion) and 20 ($23 billion), respectively.<\/p>\n
