{"id":33419,"date":"2013-03-12T08:04:24","date_gmt":"2013-03-12T06:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=33419"},"modified":"2013-03-12T08:30:13","modified_gmt":"2013-03-12T06:30:13","slug":"eoh-interim-earnings-boosted-by-aquistions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/it-services\/33419\/eoh-interim-earnings-boosted-by-aquistions\/","title":{"rendered":"EOH interim earnings boosted by aquistions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listed IT services firm <a title=\"EOH Holdings\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2245-EOH-Holdings\">EOH Holdings<\/a>\u00a0has attributed a 45.5% rise in interim earnings\u00a0to a combination of both organic growth and recent acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday (12 March), EOH reported a lift in revenue for the six months ended January 2013, to\u00a0R2.39 billion, from\u00a0R1.64 billion before.<\/p>\n<p>Profit for the period grew to R163.53 million, up 53.5% from R106.52 million in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Diluted headline earnings per share of 155.3 cents was 39.3% better than 111.5 cents in the prior reporting period.<\/p>\n<p>EOH is a provider of enterprise applications, technology, outsourcing, cloud and<br \/>\nmanaged service solutions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All areas of EOH&#8217;s business operations have seen growth during the period under review with\u00a0the revenue from services being the most significant revenue generator,&#8221; EOH said.<\/p>\n<p>Services revenue\u00a0increased to R1.66 billion, up 61.7% \u00a0over the previous period, while software sales rose 32.7% to\u00a0R350.6 million. Infrastructure sales improved<br \/>\nby 7.7% to R378.3 million.<\/p>\n<p>During the six months under review, EOH said its acquisitive strategy was to consolidate and\u00a0complement its existing service offerings in its consulting, managed services, human capital\u00a0and industrial technology businesses and to grow its public sector business.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly,\u00a0the group made several acquisitions including\u00a0Siemens IT Solutions and Services South Africa, a company\u00a0offering IT services primarily to the public sector.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, EOH said it\u00a0will continue to expand its solutions and service offerings and strengthen its industry\u00a0verticals. &#8220;This will be achieved through both organic and acquisitive growth. The main\u00a0areas of growth include managed services, cloud offerings, enterprise applications,\u00a0information management, business process outsourcing, security solutions and industrial\u00a0and infrastructure solutions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>EOH noted that it has expanded its activities in the public sector.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;EOH views Africa as a growth area and will continue to pursue opportunities in identified\u00a0countries.\u00a0EOH is well positioned to continue to grow aggressively.
