MultiChoice<\/a> has announced a new bouquet of channels, branded as the DStv<\/a> Family pack, which will launch on 9 April 2013, priced at R175 per month.<\/p>\n

DStv has also announced two new channels, FOX on channel 125 and kykNET & Kie on channel 145.<\/p>\n

New DStv channels<\/h3>\n

On 9 April 2013, two new channels will be added to the DStv platform \u2013 FOX on channel 125 and kykNET & Kie on channel 145.<\/p>\n

FOX on channel 125<\/strong><\/p>\n

FOX will be available to DStv Premium customers. It is an HD and SD simulcast channel running for 24-hours. Stand out series include Falling Skies, The Walking Dead, The Transporter \u2013 the TV series, Being Mandela, The Simpsons, House of Payne and Cougar Town.<\/p>\n

kykNET & Kie on channel 145<\/strong><\/p>\n

kykNET & Kie will be available to DStv Family, Compact, and Premium customers. This channel means Afrikaans content is available to DStv customers in the lower-tier packs, namely DStv Family and DStv Compact. kykNET & Kie will include some of the kykNET favourites such as Villa Rosa, Binneland, Toks en Tjops, Enuus and Dagbreek.<\/p>\n

kykNET & Kie will have a children\u2019s slot in the morning and in the afternoons, including content currently available on KooWee. This will include shows such as Tjiff and Tjaff, Lappies, Pikin and Zimzim.<\/p>\n

This means that KooWee (channel 307) will no longer exist as a separate channel on DStv from 9 April onwards.<\/p>\n

DStv Family bouquet<\/h3>\n

DStv Family will consist of more than 45 channels, 17 of which have not been on the lower-priced bouquets before. These include a range of general entertainment, documentary and childrens\u2019 channels such as Sony Entertainment, Discovery TLC, Nat Geo Wild, KykNET Musiek, and Cartoon Network.<\/p>\n

Collins Khumalo, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa, said: “We are very excited about DStv Family. It will provide customers more variety and choice as well as enhance the overall value of the DStv offering.”<\/p>\n
