{"id":342269,"date":"2019-09-20T09:06:43","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T07:06:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=342269"},"modified":"2019-09-20T09:06:43","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T07:06:43","slug":"there-are-no-plans-for-load-shedding-eskom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/342269\/there-are-no-plans-for-load-shedding-eskom\/","title":{"rendered":"There are no plans for load shedding: Eskom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eskom says there is no load shedding expected in September or October.<\/p>\n<p>In response to a DA <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/342099\/south-africa-on-the-brink-of-major-load-shedding-da\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> <\/strong>which indicated that power outages might be on the cards in the coming months, the power utility said that it has not communicated this information to any of its stakeholders and that its system was still running according to plan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Eskom communicated its summer plan on the 4th September 2019 at a media briefing held at Megawatt Park, where we indicated that while no load shedding is expected over summer the risk, however, remains as the system is still tight and vulnerable, as we ramp up plant maintenance,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Following a statement by the Democratic Alliance\u2019s regarding possible load shedding, Eskom\u2019s acting group chief executive Jabu Mabuza is open to discuss details with Ms Mazzone.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Eskom continues to encourage residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly.
