According to the latest annual billionaires listing by Forbes, the United States\u00a0has the highest net worth of billionaires across the globe.<\/p>\n

In it’s 27th annual billionaires edition, Forbes has noted an increase of billionaires to 1,426 individuals across the globe, with a total net worth of $5.4 trillion.<\/p>\n

That means 201 new names have been added to the exclusive list, up from the 1,226 billionaire\u2019s in 2012.<\/p>\n

Where in the world?<\/h3>\n

According to Forbes, the US still holds a majority of the world\u2019s billionaires (422), with Asia-Pacific (386), Europe (366), the Americas (129), the Middle East & Africa (103) following suit.<\/p>\n

The BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China) represent three of the five countries with the largest net worth of billionaires.<\/p>\n

Russia is worth over $427.1 billion, placing second overall, while China ($262.9 billion) and India ($193.6 billion) are the fourth and fifth largest when it comes to the billionaires that live there.<\/p>\n

The country with the largest net worth of billionaires is the United States with a combined wealth of $1.87 trillion, with Germany ($296.3 billion) the third largest.<\/p>\n

South Africa’s billionaires contribute $22 billion to the total of $279 billion for the Middle East and Africa region, Forbes said.<\/p>\n
